Alcon has one mission: to provide innovative products that enhance quality of life by helping people see better. The merger with Novartis in 2011 helped us do this by uniting the strengths of Alcon, CIBA VISION and Novartis Ophthalmics into one Alcon eye care business, which is now the second-largest division of Novartis. This enables us to serve our customers through the full life cycle of patient needs across eye diseases, vision conditions and refractive errors.
Alcon’s vision is to be the most trusted leader in eye care. With the Novartis merger in 2011, we were able to expand our global presence to accelerate access to innovative eye care products and partner with eye care professionals around the world. By serving and working with people worldwide, we are building our reputation, while addressing the growing eye care demands of the future.

We’re a development organisation working in more than 25 countries. We help train and empower local eye doctors, nurses and health workers to create a sustainable system of care in the communities that need it most. The work we do has a very clear purpose: to make sure everyone, whether they’re rich or poor, has access to high-quality, affordable eye health.
Our founder, Fred Hollows, was an internationally renowned eye surgeon and humanitarian. Fred didn’t believe in charity, he firmly believed in teaching, supporting and empowering people to help themselves. He worked tirelessly to end avoidable blindness in indigenous Australia and around the world – and while it didn’t happen in his time, it will in ours.

The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust is a charitable foundation established in 2012 to mark and celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s 60-year contribution to the Commonwealth. We have received support from governments, corporate partners, trusts, foundations, community groups and individuals from across the Commonwealth. Our mission is to enrich the lives of people from all backgrounds within the Commonwealth by working with partners towards eliminating avoidable blindness and empowering a new generation of young leaders.
With a five-year time frame in which to deliver successful programmes, our aim is to leave a lasting legacy, owned by the whole Commonwealth, in honour of Her Majesty The Queen. Through grants, advocacy and convening, we are working with partners to create sustainable improvements to the lives of Commonwealth citizens, in line with Commonwealth priorities. Our focus is on the empowerment of a new generation of Commonwealth leaders, and the ending of avoidable blindness.

Sightsavers is an international organisation that changes lives for the long term. We work in more than 30 countries to eliminate avoidable blindness and support people with visual impairments to live independently.
We do what we do because 80% of blindness in the world is avoidable, and we think that’s astoundingly unfair.
We do it because people with disabilities deserve the same opportunities as everyone else.
We want avoidable blindness to be eliminated. We want equality for people with disabilities.
We help blind people to see again, and prevent people from going blind wherever we can. We improve the lives of people with disabilities, particularly those who have permanent sight loss. We need to change the lives of people at risk of sight loss for the long term, not just today. So we campaign to make the world a fairer place for people with disabilities and we tackle the underlying causes of avoidable blindness.
